Our senior leadership team lead by example, set the course and empower our people.

With over 25 years of construction sector experience, Pete has a strong passion for the industry and its ability to make a difference for the many people who benefit from the outcomes it delivers. Pete's extensive background at a Senior and Corporate level, across a number of different sectors including Aged Care, Retirement Villages, Commercial and Civil Construction, has given him insight into the most efficient way to piece together projects to deliver the best outcomes for its clients.

Pete Lawrence

General Manager (North)

Laurie has worked within the construction industry for over 20 years. With a strong background in the health sector, in recent years Laurie has been involved in a number of health and aged care projects. He offers extensive experience in the refurbishment and construction of aged care facilities including hospital, specialist care and apartment accommodation, with recent engagements including Lead Project Manager roles for Bupa Care Services and for Auckland and Waikato District Health Boards. Laurie’s career experience spans a variety of industry sectors, including commercial and residential developments and fitouts, as well as public realm projects including the National Library of New Zealand.

Laurie Peckham

Head of Project Delivery

Paul has a strong history and experience in people and organisational management within corporate organisations in New Zealand in both public and private sectors. He previously has had senior roles within IAG and State Insurance. Paul’s experience in change management, development and implementation of key policies and corporate culture, organisational productivity and customer service leaves him well placed to look after all shared and support service functions within Buildtech.

Jessica brings 15 years of experience working with children and families in the early childhood sector, with 10 of these also raising her own children. She works to ensure a strong sense of team and community within the company. She passionately believes the purpose of Buildtech is to serve its local community. She is also passionate about health and well-being, creativity, encouraging, and bringing out the best in people.

Jessica Cooper

People Care

David has over 20 years’ experience in commercial, retail and hospitality manufacturing and fit out project management. He owned his own commercial fit out company for 16 years and has a vast knowledge and experience with architects, trades, contractors, engineers, council and P.M.O.’s. Prior to joining us, he was Operations Manager for Mainland Claims Management Ltd overseeing a staff of 40 Loss Adjustors and Admin, organising assessment and repairs of $400m of earthquake damaged properties in Christchurch.

David Brown

Senior Project Manager

Israel has led Buildtech since it's inception and lives to make a lasting positive impact on the world. Prior to founding Buildtech, Israel was CFO of Rex Bionics, the world's first robotic exoskeleton device for people in wheelchairs. With a background in finance and economics, Israel brings a wealth of experience on driving economic change. Israel is passionate about building flourishing communities through providing quality affordable housing, and together with his wife Jessica and children, is on a mission to provide homes and impact communities, one family at a time.

Israel Cooper

Managing Director

Andrew has vast experience and skills in capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, capital structuring and asset performance management. Most recently Andrew was Chief Operating Officer of Ngai Tahu Holdings Corporation (NTHC), a diversified investment company with assets valued over $600m across the property, tourism, rural, healthcare and seafood industries. Andrew’s background includes work in Asia, Mexico and London for Halliburton as the Global Proposals Manager. Andrew has deep experience across a significant number of large and complex property projects, including the Hobsonville Point and Whenuapai airbase redevelopments.

Andrew Harrison


Martin brings to the company over 35 years' experience within the construction industry with a strong focus on contractual management, relationship management, technical expertise, Health and Safety and an in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code for both Residential and Commercial construction. Martin acts as technical and compliance oversight on all large and complex projects, including leaky buildings, technical repairs, and large scale multi-discipline residential projects.
